Can you Sponsor Ron and Steve running the BathHalf for HCA UK

Can you Sponsor Ron and Steve running the BathHalf for HCA UK news article

Hello all HCA(UK) Members and Supporters.

Since the start of the ACA(UK)/HCA(UK) in 1999 we have provided annual racing programmes and development support to sailability groups and individuals. All this has been provided free to members by volunteers and our costs have been covered by donations. We have never applied a membership fee.

As we approach our 2016 season we find that our funds to cover the cost of this are low and in need of a boost before the season starts in April. In order to address this Steve and I are going to run the “Bathhalf” half marathon, on Sunday 13th March 2016, to raise money for the HCA(UK).

This email is to ask all our members and supporters if you are prepared to sponsor us in this event. If all our members contribute something and if possible have a collection or fundraising event for us at your Sailability groups, Sailing clubs or around your family and friends we could set our association on a firm footing for providing our usual support through our exiting 2016 season (Which includes the 2016 Hansa Worlds in Medemblik- The Netherlands, the UK Hansa Nationals at Carsington, The RYA Multiclass, Hansa GP and Hansa European North Cup - all at Rutland, Hansa GP at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, plus National, North, South and Scottish TT Series’)

Steve and I have actively worked with the association since it was set up in 1999 and would like our personal adventure at the “Bathhalf” (a celebration of my 70th birthday, which was in May 2015) to bring together a special effort from our members and supporters in celebration of all the good times we have had together in the past and will have in the future. We can only achieve this as a team. Will you be part of that team by sponsoring us and if possible having a collection for us at your sailability group or sailing club. You may even be inspired to hold a fundraiser to support our run, possibly on the same day, like a Hansa event where everyone walks or wheels a mile, sails laps of their water in an hour or a sponsored indoor game or knit or whatever your group would be happy to do just to show solidarity with our run and to our Association.

If so pleaseuse the sponsor form attached and send it with your sponsorship money to me at 97 Gotch Road, Barton Seagrave, Kettering, Northants, NN15 6UF. Either send a cheque made payable to “The Hansa Class Association(UK)” or indicate that you have made a transfer using the “Donate” facility on our website and making a “Bathhalf donation”. Thank you so much for your help with this.       All the best.    Ron and Steve

P.S. A message from Tom, our Treasurer:

On the 13th of March our long serving secretary of the Hansa Class Ron Sawford together with his son Steve, from SS Marine are tackling the 'Bathhalf' half marathon to raise much-needed funds for the Association.

From the very start Ron and Steve have been integral to the running of the class association, and their efforts over the years have helped build Hansa sailing into the success it is today. Once again they are pulling out all the stops and even putting their bodies on the line to support our activities. We can't thank them enough for their efforts and look forward to supporting them in this tremendous undertaking.

If you would like to support Ron and Steve in this endeavour, as well as helping the class association continue to offer top quality accessible events, please follow the directions above to sponsor them. Your support will be appreciated by us all. Tom
