Hello all ACA(UK) sailors and teams.
The ACA(UK) have cancelled from the Access Traveller Series the Tideway event planned for Saturday 7th July 2012. The ACA(UK) is withdrawing its support and resources from the it and will not attend the event.
The reason for this is because of the basis on which Tideway Sailability propose to stage the event with regard to acceptable personal flotation devices. We recognise and respect the rights of Tideway Sailability personnel to apply any restrictions they feel essential to the safety of the event but on this occasion find this particular restriction to be incompatible with the decisions of the Access Class Association (UK) Committee. We therefore cannot support the event as part of our Traveller series.

I don’t know if Tideway intends running the day as a “Tideway open Access event” and suggest anyone who wishes to know this contact Tideway Sailability direct.

I am very hopeful that we can reach an agreement with Tideway Sailability on this issue before the 2013 programme and that we can reinstate them as a Traveller venue and continue the great relationship we have had with them for the past 12 years.
