Frampton on Severn Access TT

On July the 3rd we set out for the first ever TT at Frampton. This club is about five minutes from J13 on the M5 which is north of Bristol. We were made very welcome to what turned out to be the best organised Access event that I have been to. No sooner than Malcolm arrived at the club but two helpers from the club provided the muscle to unload the boats from the trailer. The day continued with help being provided at the appropriate times. The event went like a dream, the timetable was adhered to in every respect, briefing 10.15 first race start 11.00 etc. All credit to the club for their organisation.
The club sail on a very picturesque water made all the more interesting by the trees that surround it, wind shifts were the order of the day which provided all the sailors with challenging sailing.
Rutland sailors sailed 4 of the 13 boats in three of the four categories. Simon Harle in his Liberty, Chris Emmet and Malcolm Kirk in their 303 and Pat Crowley along with John Coombes in 2.3s. All the Rutland sailors came away clutching bottles of wine following their efforts but more to the point all had enjoyed a great day sailing. Frampton is definitely on our list of TTs to be attended for 2014.
