Hansa/Access Travellers Trophy - Ben Ainslie Team Trophy

Rules

The make up of a Team
The team will be a clubs best three sailors/boats in the National TT Series.
or
if your club does not have three sailors we are allowing sailors from different clubs to form a team together in order to take part in the Team Trophy until such time as you can gather sufficient numbers in your own club. You can negotiate amongst yourselves as to how you combine, providing that:

1. the combination lasts the whole year, and that

2. you declare the combination before the fourth TT event of the season, and that

3. there be a maximum of two clubs that could combine, and neither of these clubs have more than three sailors in the TT series.

A team therefore is made up of each Club's or declared team's best three sailors/boats overall-series-results, calculated according to the Team method laid out below, across the following classes:
Hansa/Access 2.3. Hansa/Access 303 1 Person. Hansa/Access 303 2 Person. Hansa/Access Liberty.

In order to reflect the fleet size in which each individual achieved their points and reward results in larger fleets the following method of scoring for the Ben Ainslie Trophy will be used this year.

Points will be awarded as follows:
The best six points scoring results throughout the Season of each sailor competing will count. This is to include both counted and discarded scores.

The club/team with the highest points will win.

Provided 3 or more boats take part in a TT Class, points will be awarded as follows:
6 points for 1st; 5 points for 2nd; 4 point for 3rd; 3 point for 4th; 2 point for 5th; 1 point for 6th up to number in fleet (including Did Not Complete); 0 points for DNS.

If only 2 boats take part in a TT Class points will be awarded as follows: 5 points for 1st; 4 point for 2nd.

It only 1 boat takes part in a TT Class then 4 points will be awarded, providing that a complete series of races is sailed, in accordance with SIs.

The best 3 scores for each individual from a Club or Team will constitute that Team’s result.

Tie Break
In the event of two clubs having the same number of points the club with the best fourth members result will win. This will be applied through all the clubs/teams sailors and results until the tie is broken.

If after this a tie still exists the club with the most first places will win. This will be applied through all the clubs qualifying sailors and results until the tie is broken.

If after all this has been applied a tie still exists the above tie breaking rules will be applied to the results of the Clubs non- team sailors until the tie is broken.
