Location

We are based on the broad in Nicholas Everitt Park in Oulton Broad, NR33 9JR. There is a map on our website, and a more detailed one on WOBYC’s website http://wobyc.com/contact-us/ Note that traffic in the area can get busy especially around school times so please be aware of potential delays.

Parking

We aim to have volunteers in the car park to point you in the right direction, and boats should be taken to the car park nearest to the slipway. Note that this is a public car park that is patrolled, so tickets must be displayed, but we have reduced the event Hansa TT entry fee to subsidize the charge for our sailing visitors.

Competitor and Visitor Notes

Covid 19 Measures

Whilst many legal restrictions will have been lifted by date of the event, Covid will still be present in the community, and we feel that it is prudent to continue to take sensible precautions with everyone taking a personal responsibility for both their own and others health.

There will be both sprays and hand gels available, but in order to help us in ensuring everyone’s covid safety please ensure the following:

1) Please ensure that you come to the event with your own support for the following:

a. All the personal needs you will want help with throughout the event.

b. Rigging and packing away your boat, however there will be volunteers available to help with launching and recovery.

c. All your personal support whilst being hoisting into and out of your boat and in preparing to sail or come ashore, there will be volunteers available to operate the hoist.

2) Please bring the following:

a. Your own face mask if you are able to use one as these may be required whilst moving around indoors.

b. If you need hoisting please bring your own sling with you if possible.

3) Please do a quick health check before travelling:

a. Have you had or been in contact with anyone with a positive Covid 19 test within the last 14 days?

b. Have you shown or suffered from any symptoms of Covid 19 within the past 14 days?

c. Have you had close or physical contact with anyone showing or suffering symptoms of Covid 19 within the past 14 days?

d. If you have answered yes to any of the questions above, please STAY AT HOME and do not attend the event.

4) Food Provision:

Unfortunately it will not be practical this year for the club to provide lunches so we would recommend that competitors and their support team bring their own food. There are café’s and takeaways in and near to the venue, but being school holidays the park is likely to be busy.

We will be providing bacon rolls from 9.00 to 10.15 for those attending (please let us know how many will be in your party if possible) along with some croissants, and there will be tea and cakes for the prize-giving (all included). There will also be teas and coffees available during the day from the club’s canteen (donations)

a. Food outlets include:

i. Everitt Park Café

ii. Mermaid Fish Restaurant

iii. Wok’s

iv. Flames

v. Tesco Express (Beccles Road Esso) approx. 1 mile away

vi. Asda - centrally in Lowestoft

vii. Morrisons - off the A12 from Ipswich

5) Parking:

To make life easier for our volunteers rather than subsidize competitor’s car parking on the day as we did last time, the entry fee has been reduced, but note that car parking charges do apply, and that checks are made
